Fauquier Home Sales Up in 2015
The Virginia Association of REALTORS just released their housing report for 2015. What a great year for homeowners in Virginia. Home sales across the Commonwealth were up 11% over 2014 hitting $35 Billion in sales in 2015. See the post here
This is great news for Virginia, but what about our little corner of the Commonwealth, Fauquier County? Fauquier County has seen a 16.2% increase in home sales in December 2015 over December 2014. "Buyer activity has remained extremely strong over the holiday season and it’s continuing into January, a time when we typically see a seasonal slowdown." says Chuck Cornwell, the Broker of RE/MAX Regency. "The inventory of homes on the market is at its highest levels over the past five years, which is contributing to buyer’s having a better selection of homes to choose from." The median home price in Fauquier County also continued on the upswing. The median sold price in Fauquier County is now $350,000, a 5.6% increase over last year. "We are seeing more sales where Sellers who just bought their home in the last couple of years are now selling their homes for much higher prices than they paid" continued Mr. Cornwell, "and I expect to see this trend continue".
